Tennessee River

All the stars must be lined up in the universe because this has been our best day yet since we entered the river system.

The weather is gorgeous and the scenery is breathtaking.  Who could ask for more.

We are now in the beautiful, meandering Tennessee River.  The landscape is a dramatic mix of towering limestone cliffs and sandy shores.  There are a few settlements along the way with some impressive homes and cottages but most of it so far has been uninhabited.   It's real purdy!

We are starting to feel like we are in the south now.  We are even experiencing some good ole southern hospitality.

Yesterday, while anchored for the night we had a visit from a local gal who just wanted to make us feel welcome.  She showed up in her pontoon boat with the stereo blarring K.C. and the Sunshine Band ... Get Down Tonight.  haha .  She was a middle-aged, full-figure gal dressed in a bathing suit with one boob ready to escape.  She wanted to let us know that she thought what we were doing was "freakin' awsome"  and she gave us a shot of Fireball.  She said she would have given us more but she drank it all.  Hahaha.  Oh you gotta love it!

Tomorrow we will be entering the Tenn-Tomm Waterway.  But more about that....next time
