Customs and immigration

Phew!....we didn't get deported!

Nassau is a busy port and not what comes to mind when thinking about the Bahamas.  We knew that, but it's become even more so since we were here 6 years ago.  The anchorage has become smaller due to the addition of large docks with mega yachts tied to them.  The laid back Green Parrot bar is no longer visible,  and the dinghy dock is gone.  It seems Nassau has become a playground for the rich but we are here and have cleared customs.

The wind has picked up today and looks like it will be with us for a few days so it appears we'll be staying.  No problem.  Once ashore, there is lots to do and we are looking forward to checking it out......but more about that next time.

  1. I like your vessel the best of all of them...cruise ships...mega yachts...steel sail boats filled with young lads, etc. How long do you leave that flag up? N,x

  2. The quarantine flag goes up when you enter the country and comes down after you clear customs. The courtesy flag, in this case the Bahamian flag, stays up as long as we are in the country.
